The day of judging and the banquet
Judging
Let the judging begin. As you can see in some of these pictures, it's
going to rain! I guess when you live in the mid west or east coast you
are used to it clouding up and raining from time to time. Being born
and raised in California you usually don't get any rain during the summer
months and when you do you leave your car in the garage. Up until this
day my roadster had not seen a drop of water on it. We had a pretty good
shower during the judging and had to take a break until it was over.
Being a judge I was pretty busy running around but luckily for me I have a
great wife. She went and got a chamois and dried the roadster off after the rain.
Thanks Jan! I'm also glad the top and side curtains worked the way they
were supposed to!
This was what some people had to do to get a decent score.
All in good fun, Jim Markel slipped this $100.00 bill into the tail pipe of his
beautiful Bantam roadster to bribe the judges. I quickly took the bill and
started to put it in my shirt pocket when I noticed some soot on the bill. I
said "soot, minus 2 points". We all had a pretty good laugh!
The Banquet
Unfortunately, before the banquet I had never taken any inside pictures with my
digital camera and most of them were blurry and didn't come out. Most of
these pictures were taken by Paul Finch which he graciously gave me before he left
Butler. Thanks Paul.
